Johor Biodiversity Conservation

This program aims to conserve and restore Johor’s biodiversity through various initiatives, including environmental sustainability projects, marine conservation research, collaborations with public and private agencies and community awareness programs. With a comprehensive approach, we are committed to ensuring the sustainability of biodiversity for future generations.

Key Achievements (2007–2021)

Malaysia’s First Seahorse Genome Data

Successfully developed the first complete genome data for Malaysian seahorses.

Malaysia’s First Seahorse Sanctuary

The first seahorse sanctuary in Malaysia, located in Sg. Pulai and recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records.

Johor Giant Clam Docudrama

Produced a docudrama titled “A Giant for A Child” on Johor’s giant clams. The film was nominated for the Japan Prize in 2016, marking Malaysia’s first nomination.

Biodiversity Education Programmes

More than 2,500 participants have taken part in our biodiversity education and awareness programmes.
